PGU-27A/B TP – PGU-28A/B SAPHEI – PGU-30A/B TP-T
The PGU-28A/B Semi Armor Piercing High Explosive Incendiary (SAPHEI), qualified as M70LD in Europe, provides broad target spectrum capability by combining light armor and high explosive features into a single round. The PGU-28A/B utilizes basic multipurpose technology with enhanced and optimized ballistics to offer substantial improvements in effectiveness over the 20mm M50 series ammunition.
Optimum projectile design for enhanced performance and increased lethality on target
The PGU-27A/B TP and PGU-30A/B TP-T are cost-effective training rounds ballistically matched to the PGU-28A/B.
The family is fully interoperable with all 20mm x 102 gun systems and support/handling equipment including the M61, M197 and is type-classified and fielded in the F-15, F-16, F/A-18, and AH-1.
