Quality propellants have been supplied to the armed forces of the United States and its allies since World War II. Today, General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems continues the legacy as a U.S. leader in propellant technology, currently offering over 200 types of BALL POWDER® Propellants.
Over 99% of all U.S. military small arms ammunition are loaded with our propellants. In addition, General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems’ propellants are utilized for many U.S. military medium caliber rounds due to its superior loading density and low flame temperatures, which lengthen barrel wear. Our propellants are loaded by the U.S. DoD for 60mm, 81mm and 120mm mortar systems. Innovative technologies, such as AccuFlatTM (flat temperature profiles) and REACH compliant propellants, are available for most calibers.
