Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM)

The Advanced Medium-range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) is the next generation air-to-air missile. The missile is faster, smaller and lighter, and has improved capabilities against low-altitude targets. It has an all-weather, beyond-visual-range capability. AMRAAM delivers the highest dependability at the lowest cost of ownership. The AMRAAM is currently being procured for the Air Force, U.S. Navy and America's allies. To date, more than 33 countries have deployed AMRAAM, enriching interoperability, ensuring commonality, and helping sustain strong overall logistic support.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Anniston Operations produces critical metal components in support of the AMRAAM missile program.

 

Control Actuator Sub-Assemblies

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Anniston Operations has produced, tested and delivered over 1,000 Control Actuator sub-assemblies for the Brilliant Anti-Armor Submunition (BAT) to Northrop Grumman Corp.

0XM982 Excalibur

Excalibur is a 155mm precision-guided artillery round with extended range. Successfully fielded in 2007, Excalibur is the next generation family of projectiles for the U.S. Army and Marine Corps artillery. M982 is the first artillery round to integrate and field GPS precision guidance technology. This capability provides soldiers with an accurate, first round fire-for-effect capability in an urban setting.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Anniston Operations supported the development and production phases of this program by producing the precision metal components.

 

Hydra-70 Air-to-Ground Rocket System

The Hydra-70 unguided air-to-ground rocket is carried by the Army's Apache attack helicopter and other U.S. military aircraft. Measuring 6 feet in length and 2.75 inches in diameter, it is used for area suppression of targets.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is the sole produced of Fin and Nozzle Assemblies for the Hydra-70 Rocket System. In April 2002, Anniston celebrated production of its 4 Millionth Fin and Nozzle Assembly.

 

Patriot Missile

The PATRIOT ballistic missile interceptor is a long-range, all-altitude, all-weather air defence system designed to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and advanced aircraft.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems has produced over 200 Loaded Patriot Warheads.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Anniston Operations produces Standard Missile mission critical missile components in support of all the standard missile variants.

 

Stinger Missile

The Stinger is an accurate and lethal weapon against UAVs, helicopters, cruise missiles, and fixed wing aircraft. It is a lightweight fire and forget short range air defense missile designed for maximum lethality and survivability. Ground based units utilize Stinger for air defense missions in the Manportable Air Defense System (MANPADS) configuration or integrated on a variety of vehicles or ground mounts. Aviation units utilize Stinger for counter air missions on helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, and UAVs.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Anniston Operations produces the folding panel and hub assembly that is used to stabilize the missile at supersonic missile speeds.

 

Tomahawk Missile

Tomahawk is the world's most capable cruise missile and is ideally suited for critical long-range, precision-strike missions against high-value heavily defended targets. The combat-proven Tomahawk Block IV, currently in production, uses innovative technologies to provide an expanded array of operational capabilities while dramatically reducing acquisition, operations and support costs.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Anniston Operations manufacture numerous critical metal components for the tomahawk missile program.

 

Zuni 5.0-Inch (130mm) Rocket System

The unguided Zuni Rocket was originally developed for both air-to-air and air-to-ground applications, but is currently used almost exclusively in the later role for area suppression of targets. Widely used during the Vietnam War by the US Navy and US Marines, Zuni unguided rockets with WP and HE warheads were used during the Gulf War for target marking by Marines F/A-18A and OV-10 FACs.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Anniston Operations is currently producing the folding fin and nozzle assembly that is used for aerodynamic stability of the rocket during flight. The rockets are fired from the all weather LAU-10 launcher, which can be used at speeds up to Mach 1.2.
